Arckit Dublin Inspired Christmas Model on The Late Late Toy Show

This year, the truly iconic Late Late Toy Show celebrated its 57th year on Ireland’s national TV station, RTÉ. Hard to imagine. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this ‘one night only’ each year TV extravaganza, it is a celebration of children, of family, of giving and receiving and this year, even more than ever before, it filled the entire nation with love, laughter, joy, tears and immense generosity by the Irish people all in the space of two and a half hours. (If you missed it, you can still see it here )

If you were wondering about the architectural model that kept popping up throughout the show, that was Arckit. It was an incredible honour and privilege to have been an integral part of the this year’s set with a special Christmas model we built  which was inspired by our very own Dublin in the snow and made entirely of Arckit components, Arckit 3D printed components and  our printable festive Arckitextures images.

We tried to capture the true spirit of our Fair City during the Festive Season by incorporating some of our iconic structures such as Christchurch Cathedral with choir singers outside.

The Samuel Beckett Harp Bridge crossing the Liffey River, Brown Thomas department store with Bono, The Edge and Glen Hansard doing their annual busking session outside, a typical Georgian terrace with neighbours chatting...

The Temple Bar Pub with Christy Moore strumming away next to barrels of Guinness, the Dundrum ice rink with ice skaters wearing their favourite Christmas jumpers, the Santa Steam Train with lots of Arckit goodies in the carriages behind and Santa himself in his sleigh together with the inimitable host of the Late Late Toy Show, Ryan Tubridy and of course Rudolph and his pal on top of BT’s roof.

The city covered in snow, is aglow with lights turned on in all the buildings using LED lights. Over the course of the Holidays we will be showing you how to make all of the individual models from the set in our ‘How To Build’ section on our website and you’ll also have access to the Architexture page where you can freely download all of the images we used to dress these models.

In the first-ever Late Late Toy Show charity appeal, an astonishing €6.4 million was raised in just 24 hours. This was all thanks to Saoirse, Adam, all of the incredible children who took part in the show and of course, to the incredible generosity of the people of this beautiful island of ours as well as everyone who donated from beyond our shores.
We want to give a special thanks and congratulations to the very talented Ryan Tubridy who was quite simply, and epic host and grandmaster on the night and to the entire backroom team who worked tirelessly to make this night of nights ever happen at all.
Warmest Greetings from Team Arckit.
